Free Aug. 6 performance at Veterans Memorial Park closes another summer of live music in downtown Colusa

COLUSA, Calif. (Colusa News) — The 2026 Levitt AMP Colusa Music Series will bring its fourth season to a close on Thursday, Aug. 6, with a free performance by the Marty O’Reilly Trio at Veterans Memorial Park, capping another summer of nationally touring artists performing in the heart of downtown Colusa.

The concert begins at 6:30 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Park, located at the corner of Jay and 10th streets. Community members are invited to enjoy an evening of live Americana, blues and soul music while supporting local organizations that have helped make the annual concert series a community tradition.

Marty O’Reilly has built a national reputation for blending Americana, blues and soul into performances that range from intimate acoustic arrangements to energetic full-band productions. His songwriting often explores themes of love, loss and human connection while drawing inspiration from influential artists including Woody Guthrie, Howlin’ Wolf and Sister Rosetta Tharpe.

Throughout his career, O’Reilly has toured extensively across the United States, sharing stages with artists such as Shakey Graves while appearing at major music festivals including BottleRock Napa Valley. His distinctive voice, expressive songwriting and roots-based sound have helped establish him as one of the leading independent performers in the Americana music scene.

Performing as a trio, O’Reilly and his band will conclude the 2026 Levitt AMP Colusa season with a performance that reflects the series’ mission of bringing a wide variety of high-quality musical acts to Colusa residents at no cost.

Dinner during the event will be served by the Class of 2028, while community partners for the evening include Friends of the Colusa Library, Kids Growing Strong Community Garden and First Presbyterian Church. The concert is sponsored by Fans & Friends of Levitt AMP Colusa.

The Levitt AMP Colusa Music Series is presented by the Colusa County Arts Council with support from the Levitt Foundation, the City of Colusa and PG&E. Since launching in 2023, the concert series has transformed Veterans Memorial Park into a summer gathering place by featuring nationally touring musicians representing a diverse range of musical genres.

The series is part of the Levitt Foundation’s nationwide initiative to strengthen communities through free outdoor concerts. Each season encourages residents and visitors to come together for evenings of live entertainment while supporting local nonprofits, food vendors and community organizations. In Colusa, the concerts have become an annual tradition that highlights the city’s commitment to arts, culture and community engagement.

Over its first four seasons, the Levitt AMP Colusa Music Series has welcomed audiences from throughout Colusa County and neighboring communities, helping boost downtown activity during the summer months while providing free access to professional live music. The partnership between local volunteers, community organizations and sponsors has allowed the series to continue growing and bringing nationally recognized performers to Colusa.

Admission to the concert is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets and arrive early to enjoy dinner and community activities before the performance begins.
